Today is the test to find out if a change in pace in my daily activities is the key to unlocking my potentials. I recently completed a contracted software development position (which does not seem like a good fit for me) and I decided to start my own business(not involving software development). The first few months went quite smoothly, but now with the business infrastructure in place and all my equipment and tools acquired I find myself in a situation resembling Dr. Suess's "Waiting Place" in Oh the Places You'll Go (Thank You again, to my fellow DNIMites for the book).
...Everyone is just waiting.
Waiting for the fish to bite
or waiting for wind to fly a kite
or waiting around for Friday night
or waiting, perhaps, for their Uncle Jake
or a pot to boil, or a Better Break
or a sting of pearls, or a pair of pants
or a wig with curls, or Another Chance.
Everyone is just waiting.
NO!
That’s not for you!
Somehow you’ll escape
all that waiting and staying.
You’ll find the bright places
where Boom Bands are playing.
With banner flip-flapping,
once more you’ll ride high!
Ready for anything under the sky.
Ready because you’re that kind of a guy!
The Plan

I'm looking for my escape. I believe that a complete overhaul of my daily routines is a good start. I'm starting by waking up at 5AM every morning from here on out...forever...yes, including weekends(or until I convert to polyphasic sleeping). I was primarily a nocturnal creature in my previous life, but I found myself wasting those hours thinking about tomorrow. It seems much more difficult to waste the first 5 hours of your day as opposed to the last. Next I am going to seriously continue my Japanese lessons. I was lucky enough to receive the Japanese Rosetta Stone software as a Christmas gift during my undergraduate years. There were a few months where I pursued the minnow of language learning only to find out it is just as fast and evasive as it is small. The 6-week 100 Push ups program is the head of the physical fitness adjustments, which sadly is a 1000000% improvement over my old fitness program, aka Rock Band. A recent event involving barbecue, great music, and a couple police officers has re-sparked my interest in learning to play Bass Guitar. The timing seems utterly fantastic since I recently met someone who give lessons regularly. I have a good feeling this copse will grow steadily into the Amazon rainforest of my success.
